What Is A QR Code:

QR Code (an abbreviation of ‘Quick Response Code’) is the trademark for a type of two-dimensional code first designed for the automotive industry.

More recently, the system has become popular outside the industry due to its fast readability and large storage capacity- far greater when compared to standard UPC barcodes.

The code consists of black modules (square dots) arranged in a square pattern on a white background.

The information encoded can be made up of four standardized kinds (“modes”) of data (numeric, alphanumeric, byte/binary, Kanji), or through supported extensions.

Virtually, it can relay or launch any kind of data or application. Now, with iVision Mobile, you can adopt them to be used in a number of ways for your business.

How To Launch A QR Code:

When you’re ready, you can easily launch a QR Code for any of your mobile campaigns or mobile websites.

Simply click the QR Code graphic next to a mobile campaign and a unique QR code will be generated for you. When scanned, the QR code will trigger a text message with the specified keyword to the short code, opting the contact into your data-base and mobile campaign.

A QR Code for a mobile web page will launch the browser on the mobile device and direct the user to the mobile web page with whatever information you have linked to that specific code.

QR Code redirects to a website. This is the usual information that a QR Code links to. However, they can be used in a number of different ways.

Being that they are most often scanned with mobile phones, this makes them ideal for MMS, mobile web page platforms, or other sources of mobile-centric that platforms like iVision Mobile offer.

QR Codes for restaurants are a great idea for a number of reasons- and due to Covid-19, we’ve really seen them explode in an even wider adoption. From being a web based redirect to a menu (reducing direct customer contact), to hours of operation, weekly specials, special promotions, or directly to the website or any other forms of information.

As social necessity has forced QR Codes into wider adoption, their ease of use will be better understood. iVision Mobile is here to help you understand just how you can leverage this easy-to-use technology into your business model.
